allow the construction of more than age- and income-restricted apartments on Ashford Dunwoody Road a plan with lots of opposition that two weeks ago was thought to be dead in the water The panel in executive session after the meeting entertained a motion to sponsorship the rise with conditions but it failed according to DHA President Tim Brown Dominium representatives gave a similar presentation on June to the Dunwoody Planning Commission and the panel deferred a decision despite a request from Dominium for either an approval or denial of the application to rezone the site from O-I Office Georgia s largest July parade is close Hard to believe that Dunwoody s annual Fourth of July parade is right around the corner The parade journey is approximately miles and efforts off from the intersection of Mount Vernon Road and Jett Ferry Road at a m proceeds west on Mt Vernon to Dunwoody Village turns right onto Dunwoody Village Parkway circles around the parkway and ends at Dunwoody Village at Starbucks For the newbies the parade spectators are encouraged to set up chairs along Mt Vernon and circle around the Dunwoody Village Parkway into Dunwoody Village Social media s running joke is that you set up for the next year s parade about five minutes after this one ends Note Mt Vernon Road between Jett Ferry Road and Dunwoody Village will be closed from approximately a m to a m Elio Stephen Wong has been a part of the Pixar unit since the days of Ratatouille Now the Dunwoody native s animation work can be seen in the new film Elio The movie is about an -year-old boy named Elio who makes contact with aliens in space and goes on an intergalactic adventure befriending a worm-like alien creature named Glordon Wong who attended Georgia Tech for computer science before heading off to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco worked specifically on the character of Elio I ve been trying to glean a little information about Wong s days in Dunwoody but so far no dice Rough Draft Atlanta in recent weeks spoke with Wong about his career with Pixar and the movies that got him into animation Here is the interview by Sammie Purcell Photo by Isadora Pennington Spruill Center awards grants to five art projects The Larch Creative Fund in conjunction with the Spruill Center for the Arts in the last few days awarded a total of in grants to fund arts-based projects within Georgia According to a release from Spruill more than applications were received and the five winners were selected by an awards committee These projects were chosen by the committee
