Broncos, Denver Water in discussions over 36-acre campus next to potential stadium site at Burnham Yard

Denver Water and the Broncos have been engaged in discussions for at least months about the water utility s -acre campus which is located next to a feasible stadium site The utility endorsed the talks Monday after documents revealed regular meetings between association executives and Denver Water personnel with Denver city administrators also taking part RELATED The tadium Competition Inside the promising new stadium The utility campus has undergone extensive redevelopment including nearly million in resources and a new headquarters that opened in The campus is next to Burnham Yard a former railroad yard that s one of the sites the club appears to be considering as it moves toward a decision about whether to build a new stadium The sides have communicated regularly going back to May emails and documents obtained by The Denver Post show The majority of up-to-date meeting mentioned in the documents was scheduled for last month at the Broncos Dove Valley facility That lunch meeting invite included crew president Damani Leech and Denver Water CEO Alan Salazar and board chair Stephanie Donner The exact substance of those conversations is not clear from the records including how declined to comment about the nature of the conversations between club agents and Denver Water referring to a announcement provided to The Post last week for a story about the company s attainable Denver metro area The Broncos have also had conversations with bureaucrats in Lone Tree and Aurora CEO and owner Greg Penner announced earlier this spring and could also renovate or build new on the current site of Empower Field at Mile High which opened in We have had discussions with the Broncos as part of their exploration of expected future stadium sites but it is premature to draw any firm conclusions Denver Water spokesman Jimmy Luthye declared in a comment to The Post In these discussions we ve tried to make sure they fully understand any probable implications for Denver Water facilities and operations The announcement notes that the utility has efficiently operated from this location for more than years and we ve known that Burnham Yard was going to be redeveloped into occasionally included Broncos deputy general counsel Bill Nunn and senior vice president of construction Amy Dee who was hired in April and agents at the commercial real estate firm CBRE Turner
