APS hosts final APS Forward 2040 community meeting on Dec. 2
Atlanta Society Schools is inviting students families staff and society members to an upcoming APS Forward Meeting an event focused on sharing the society s visions for the future of teaching and learning in Atlanta The meeting which will take place at Herman J Russell West End Academy on Dec at p m will focus on building a districtwide vision around four key areas early college machinery arts and biomedical and soundness sciences The Comprehensive Long-Range Facilities Plan also known as APS Forward Reshaping the Future of Learning is a districtwide initiative to ensure APS schools and facilities align with the demands of students and families for decades to come The plan address the district s overarching facility priorities including creating sustainable high-quality learning environments and expanding access to specialized academic programs The APS Forward plan addresses a million budget shortfall this year and an expected million next year If the school board adopts the plan it would save an estimated to million and reduce maximum by which aligns with the ongoing drop in enrollment Related story Populace hearings planned for final version of APS plan to close or repurpose schools Dec s meeting is the last of four meetings throughout November and December to give APS families and society members opportunities to share their feedback on the plan Through the rest of the year the APS Forward Task Force will continue hosting a series of subcommittee sessions focused on key areas Upcoming meetings for the task force will cover include Career Technical and Agricultural Learning on Dec and the Arts on Dec APS area members who have not attended one of the four in-person visioning meetings are encouraged to participate in the locality survey here To learn more visit atlantapublicschools us APS Related story FutureVerse advances plans for new innovation center in Downtown The post APS hosts final APS Forward locality meeting on Dec appeared first on Rough Draft Atlanta
